|Description:||This position will be responsible for ensuring that the company's vehicle maintenance programs are executed in an efficient, safe and economical manner by providing leadership and coordinating employee activities. This position will also be engaged in planning, servicing and repairing equipment and vehicles across the fleet operated and owned by Mid-South Synergy and any subsidiaries.|
|Duties:||•Establish procedures, standards and guidelines for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and related equipment withing the fleet.|
•Directly supervises Transportation department employees.
•Establish procedures, standards and guidelines for tracking and control of inventory to include fuel, oil, parts, tires and consumables.
•Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles and equipment.
•Determine practical assignment of work to mechanics or qualified vendors,
•Prepare budgetary projections for maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles.
•Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
•Implement and manage a warranty claims program through equipment manufacturers.
•Maintain accurate fleet records.
|Qualifications:||•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other related field; |
•Minimum 5 years mechanic experience and three years supervisory/management experience.
(An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Experience and knowledge of principles and methods used in the planning/coordination of an effective program for preventive maintenance; experience complying with applicable federal, state and local guidelines; experience implementing fleet operations goals, objectives, policies and procedures;strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills; must be able to work with a variety of people in varying situations with tact and diplomacy; ability to multi-task and work in a high energy, fast paced environment and adapt to constantly changing priorities and situations.
