|Description:||To accurately record and interpret assigned financial and accounting transactions consistent with approved and prescribed accounting practices and procedures. |
|Duties:||Processes accounts payable for both electric and subsidiary operations, including the reconciliation of purchases received with supplier's invoices and Cooperative purchases to accurately and efficiently make payment to vendors. |
Assists Cooperative employees in researching or obtaining information pertaining to accounting records that will help them manage their areas of responsibility.
Reconciles assigned subsidiary records monthly to individual ledger accounts to assure correct reporting of current operating results and financial condition.
Assists in reconciling Cooperative and subsidiary bank accounts.
Assists in compiling and review of data for various journal entries.
Assists in monthly financial close.
Scans all documentation for archiving.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and the use of computers and computer software applications.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations and compile reports.
Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to organize workload, establish priorities and meet established deadlines.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team as needed.
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in extremely stressful situations.
Ability to prepare clear, concise and complete reports, correspondence and other written materials.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Ability to multi-task and work in a high-energy, fast paced environment and adapt to constantly changing priorities and situations.
HS Diploma or GED with related work experience in Accounting or business work environment.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
Three (3) years of accounting experience utilizing working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Electric utility accounting experience or familiarity with Rural Utilities Services (RUS) Uniform System.
(An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.)
Valid Texas Class C drivers license with a good driving record as measured by Mid-South Synergy's criteria.
